In more than 17 thousand periodicals are over 7,000 Chinese periodicals printed or electronic and over 10,000 foreign periodicals printed or electronic. 28 academic databases help construct a document retrieval system covering all disciplines and majors of the university.

  Thanks to the computerized management system in gathering, cataloguing, circulation, and public inquiry, etc, the automation level, network scale and digitalization standard of the library have been on rapid progress since the beginning of 1990s. Having been connected with the campus network, CERNET and the Internet, the automation management system enables readers to consult the library resources such as CDs, web databases and catalogue databases, and to share information on the Internet even in electronic reading rooms or on the campus network. Training activities are also carried out on document retrieval and electronic information retrieval. In addition, the library provides such services as document request, inter-library loan, novelty evaluation, SDI, online reference and document delivery, etc.

   The library consists of collecting section, editing section, circulation section, periodical section, reading section, section of information inquiry, and section of modern technology, etc. Among the 101 faculty members, 17 are of senior professional title and 40 are of intermediate professional title.
